2025 Chevy Tahoe Dimensions and Garage-Fit Guide

Dale Hutchins · 2 min read

Check 2025 Tahoe length, width, height, passenger room and cargo volume, plus the measurements to verify before parking one in your garage.

The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe measures 211.3 inches long—17 feet 7.3 inches. GM’s 2025 Fleet Guide lists body width without mirrors at 81.1 inches, with overall height of 75.8 inches for 2WD and 75.9 inches for 4WD. Those are reference dimensions, not a guarantee of clearance for every equipped vehicle. Source: GM’s 2025 Fleet Guide.

Exterior dimensions

Measurement 2025 Tahoe specification
Overall length 211.3 in.
Body width, excluding mirrors 81.1 in.
Overall height, 2WD 75.8 in.
Overall height, 4WD 75.9 in.
Wheelbase 120.9 in.

Length, width and drivetrain-specific heights come from GM’s Fleet Guide. The wheelbase is listed in Edmunds’ 2025 Tahoe specifications.

Check height on the actual Tahoe when clearance is tight. Edmunds lists the 2025 Z71 4WD at 76.3 inches tall, rather than the fleet guide’s general 4WD figure. Chevrolet also confirms that available Air Ride Adaptive Suspension changes ride height. Roof-mounted accessories need their own clearance allowance. Passenger-room dimensions

Measurement Front row Second row Third row
Headroom 42.3 in. 38.9 in. 38.2 in.
Legroom 44.5 in. 42.0 in. 34.9 in.
Shoulder room 65.5 in. 64.6 in. 62.7 in.

These are GM’s published 2025 Tahoe cabin measurements. The second row has 7.1 inches more listed legroom than the third row. If adults will regularly use the back row, test that seating position with the second row adjusted as your family would use it—not just pushed forward for a showroom demonstration.

Cargo space by seat position

Seat configuration Cargo volume
All three rows upright: behind third row 25.5 cu. ft.
Third row folded: behind second row 72.5 cu. ft.
Second and third rows folded: behind front row 122.7 cu. ft.

CarsDirect’s 2025 Tahoe specifications list these three volumes; GM’s Fleet Guide confirms that the maximum requires both rear rows folded.

For family travel with every row occupied, 25.5 cubic feet is the relevant figure, not 122.7. For a crate, appliance or other rigid load, volume alone cannot establish fit: measure the liftgate opening, narrowest interior width and usable floor length with the needed seats folded.

Will a 2025 Tahoe fit in your garage?

Start with usable interior depth minus 211.3 inches. A genuinely clear 20-foot-deep garage provides 28.7 inches of total leftover length—shared between the front and rear, not at each end. Shelving, steps and the closed garage door reduce that space.

Before buying, check:

  • Door-opening width: the 81.1-inch figure excludes mirrors. Measure the vehicle with mirrors in the position you intend to use.
  • Lowest overhead obstruction: include the door, tracks, opener and any roof accessories.
  • Everyday access: leave room to open the doors, walk around the SUV and operate the liftgate.
